If you have actors, or a boom operator, or a camera/dolly/grip team clomping around on a noisy hard surface during the take, then having a roll of foot foam handy may save the day, and the sound take.  This foam is adhesive backed, and can be used to dampen all sorts of harsh sounds like footsteps and dishes.
